Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday met young innovator Ravi Tamta, who has developed a flying car and assured all government support for further advancement in the project.
During the meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, Tamta, who hails from Almora, briefed Dhami on the technology behind his flying-car project, the progress made so far and his plans for further development.
Appreciating the initiative, Dhami said Uttarakhand’s youth possess immense talent and technological capabilities and that the state government was committed to providing promising innovators with opportunities and support to turn their ideas into viable projects.
“Giving wings to the dreams of Uttarakhand’s youth is our priority,” Dhami said, adding that the government would extend all possible assistance to young people working with new ideas and modern technologies.
The Chief Minister directed the Secretary, Industries, to examine the possibilities of providing Tamta’s startup with the required government assistance under the state’s existing startup and industrial policies. He also asked officials to facilitate the necessary procedures and explore the benefits available to the venture under the applicable policy framework.
Dhami said technology and innovation were playing an increasingly important role in shaping the future and noted that young people from Uttarakhand were exploring areas such as artificial intelligence, drones, electric mobility and aerospace technology.
He said emerging technologies could have particular relevance for a mountainous state like Uttarakhand. Technology-driven transportation systems, he added, could potentially strengthen connectivity to remote and difficult-to-access areas in the future.
At the same time, the Chief Minister stressed that projects involving advanced transportation technologies would have to comply with technical, safety and regulatory standards.
Tamta told the Chief Minister that he had been working continuously on the flying-car project and was seeking to further develop the technology.
Dhami wished him success and reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a stronger ecosystem for startups and innovation in the state.
“New Uttarakhand will not be built only through development projects, but also through the new ideas, innovation and entrepreneurship of its youth,” Dhami said, adding that the government wanted to ensure that talented youngsters did not have to abandon their dreams for lack of resources.
The Chief Minister said the government was working to position Uttarakhand as a leading state in startups and innovation, with the aim of turning youth-led innovations into engines of employment generation, self-reliance and economic growth.
