Investor demand for India’s biggest IPO continued to surge on Thursday, with Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore public issue subscribed 5.57 times by 7 pm on Day 2, a company statement said.

The IPO attracted over 7.5 million applications in just two days. Institutional investors led the demand, with the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) portion subscribed 13.29 times. The retail portion was also subscribed 1.54 times, it said.

The IPO had closed its opening day with 3.16 times subscription, climbing to 5.57 times by the end of Day 2. Investors bid for more than 110 crore shares against 19.75 crore shares on offer in the non-anchor portion, with bids worth approximately ₹1.23 lakh crore. This follows the overwhelming response from anchor investors, whose bids totalled around ₹2.50 lakh crore. Together, anchor and non-anchor bids amounted to approximately ₹3.73 lakh crore.

Demand was strong across investor categories. The Non-Institutional Investors (NII) portion was subscribed 5.97 times, while the employee and Reliance Industries shareholder portions were subscribed 2.10 times and 4.05 times, respectively. All major categories have now crossed the full subscription mark.

The sharpest pickup on Day 2 came from non-institutional investors and Reliance shareholders. NII subscription climbed from 1.68 times on Day 1 to 5.97 times on Day 2. The shareholder portion saw a similar jump, rising from 1.46 times to 4.05 times.

With just one day remaining, the Jio IPO will close for subscription on Friday, October 23. Despite the strong oversubscription across categories, applications remain open, giving eligible investors until the closing date to participate.
