A poster making competition on energy conservation was organized at Dehradun-based Doon International School (DIS) on Wednesday under the “Jigyasa” programme with students from various schools participating in the event.

Twenty-six students from different schools were awarded attractive prizes, mementos, and certificates.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the program, Dr. Harendra Singh Bisht, Director of the Indian Institute of Petroleum explained the various forms of energy and emphasized the importance of energy conservation.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the Principal, Dr. Dinesh Bartwal. The jury members of the poster making competition, Prof. Hariom Shankar from DAV College, Dr. Neha Saxena from SGRR University, and Anita Devi from DIS, announced the names of the winners.

Students participated in the poster making competition in two categories: the first category included students from classes 6 to 8, and the second category included students from classes 9 to 12. The winners’ names will be displayed at Doon International School on the day of the next Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM).

The program was conducted by DIS coordinator Kajal Kshetri. The event was attended by Organizing Secretary Dr. Kunwar Raj Asthana, Jigyasa program coordinator Dr. Aarti, and team members Dr. Jyoti Porwal, Dr. Kamal Kumar, Anjali Bhatnagar, Sapna Painuly, Sanjay Kumar, Gokul Kumar, and Pankaj Bhaskar.

The programme was organized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) and the Society for Research and Development in Science Technology and Agriculture.
