RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said the Sangh is working to develop strong individuals and society for building a powerful nation.
“The Sangh’s objective is to develop individuals, because only strong individuals can build a strong society and a strong nation. The Sangh is not in competition with any organization. If the nation is strong, its citizens will also be strong. If the nation is weak, individuals will not be safe in their own country”, Bhagwat said at a function related to the 100th anniversary of the RSS in Dehradun.
Bhagwat said the reality of the RSS cannot be understood by looking at it from the outside. Some people mistake the march for a paramilitary organization, hear patriotic songs for a musical group, and see service work for a service sector organization. However, the Sangh is a broad social force beyond these boundaries, he said.
Citing an example, he said that just as one must taste sugar to understand its sweetness, to understand the Sangh, one must participate in its work.
Bhagwat said that after a long historical journey, the world hopes to see India once again in a leadership role. He called upon the gathering to strengthen society and the nation by joining the Sangh’s activities.
He said that only those who work to unite are Hindus. Devotion to the motherland is essential. The world values power more than truth, so acquiring power is essential, but its use should be restrained.
Bhagwat said that women are completely independent. Their participation in the governance of the country should not be limited to 33 percent, but to 50 percent. Women played an important role during the lockdown period.
On the conservation of Uttarakhand’s rivers and the environment, he emphasized the need for a coordinated policy and local participation. He emphasized that the values of teachers are more important than the curriculum in education.
On issues like reservation, classification, and the Uniform Civil Code, he said that society must work with authenticity and harmony. We must overcome the mindset of division.
He clarified that the Sangh does not practice Hindutva politics, but rather works to uplift society through individual development. Corruption begins in the mind and can be eradicated there.
He emphasized the need to view population as both a burden and a resource, and stressed the need for thoughtful policy that can be implemented equally.
