Ajay Kumar Singh, the newly appointed Managing Director of UJVN Limited, on Monday conducted a site inspection of the 300 MW Lakhwar Multipurpose Project in Dehradun district and reviewed the progress of ongoing construction works.
Singh inspected key components of the project, which is being constructed on the river Yamuna, including dam construction, power generation structures, tunnel works, and other allied infrastructure. He also obtained updates from the concerned officials.
While reviewing the current status, the Managing Director held detailed discussions on the roadmap for upcoming works. He issued clear instructions to ensure that all construction activities are carried out at an accelerated pace in adherence to the stipulated timelines. He further directed that adequate manpower, machinery, and other necessary resources be deployed at the site to meet project targets.
Singh emphasized that the Lakhwar Project is of immense importance for both the state and the nation. He highlighted that the project will not only enhance power generation capacity but also provide multiple benefits such as irrigation, drinking water supply, and flood control. He instructed officials and various other agencies that any form of delay or laxity in execution will not be tolerated. Stressing on quality and safety, he directed strict adherence to all prescribed standards and called for regular monitoring of project activities.
Singh assured that all necessary technical and financial support from the management will be continuously extended to ensure successful execution of the project. He also directed officials to maintain effective coordination and proactively address potential challenges.
On this occasion, Executive Director Rajeev Agarwal, General Manager S.K. Singh, along with other senior officials of the corporation and project, were present. Officials briefed the Managing Director about the latest progress, key challenges, and the upcoming action plan.
