St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun, on Monday (Feb 2) celebrated Foundation Day of the Brothers of St Patrick with great reverence and enthusiasm.
The programme was organised in the school auditorium and was attended by the Brothers, staff and students. The special guest for the occasion was Bro. Chinappan.
The programme commenced with a brief introduction, setting the tone for the event. This was followed by a solemn prayer, invoking God’s blessings on the institution. A graceful prayer dance was then presented by the students, expressing devotion and gratitude.
The Brothers were formally welcomed, after which the ceremonial lighting of the lamp was conducted, symbolising the light of knowledge and wisdom. The school choir then rendered a melodious hymn, filling the hall with a spiritual ambience.
A meaningful skit was presented by the students, highlighting the values and vision of the institution. This was followed by an informative PowerPoint presentation on the establishment of the congregation of Brothers of St Patrick by Rev. Brother Bishop Daniel Delany, giving insight into the rich legacy of the Congregation.
Another choir performance added to the solemnity of the occasion. Brother Carroll then addressed the gathering, speaking about the school’s journey, emphasizing how the school is a part of a global network and the importance of upholding its values of the Patrician Brothers. The programme concluded with the singing of the school song, filling everyone with pride and a sense of belonging.
The Foundation Day celebration was a memorable and inspiring event that paid tribute to the school’s rich heritage and guiding principles, said a teacher of the SJA.
