Two persons were killed and two injured after a Venue SUV (UP 78 HJ 4936) rolled down from a steep hill at Gethiya area on Bhowali-Haldwani road in Nainital district on Saturday, police said.
An SDRF team took swift action, reaching the vehicle that had plunged into a deep gorge to conduct a rescue operation. Working under challenging conditions, the team safely extricated two injured individuals from the vehicle—which had fallen approximately 60–70 meters—and, after administering first aid, sent them to a nearby hospital.
However, two persons died on the spot. The SDRF men recovered their bodies and handed over to the police.
