Boy drowns in Ganga as daring escapade by Delhi teenagers turn tragic

A daring escapade by three boys from Delhi turned tragic at a Ganga beach near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

Ashish Kumar (17), a resident of West Sagarpur area of Delhi, had come to Neem Beach for swimming in the Ganga.

During the swimming, Kumar went into deep waters and started crying. The two other friends tried to rescue him but failed in their efforts. Soon, Kumar was swept away in the strong currents of the Ganga.

After getting the message, a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Uttarakhand, immediately reached the scene and launched a search and rescue operation on Saturday.

The SDRF team conducted an intensive search operation at the site. Following continuous and tireless efforts during the search operation, SDRF deep diver Constable Ajay Singh recovered the body of Kumar from a depth of approximately 15 to 20 feet.

The body was later handed over to the local police for legal formalities.
