The portals of the high altitude Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand were reopened on Saturday.

A large number of Sikh devotees paid obeisance at the Gurudwara which is situated at a height of more than 15000 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the Sikh devotees to the shrine. “Those who speak shall be blessed… Sat Sri Akal! The sacred portals of Shri Hemkunt Sahib Ji, the holy symbol of devotion, austerity, and service, have today been opened for the darshan of devotees with full rites and rituals. All devotees arriving from across the country and abroad for this sacred pilgrimage are heartily welcomed and honored in the land of the gods, Uttarakhand. Our government is working with full commitment and a spirit of service to make the devotees’ journey smooth, safe, and convenient,” Dhami said on X.
