Nearly 900 participants from 27 states are expected gather in Niti Valley nestling in the Garhwal hills of Uttarakhand to take part in a marathon on May 31.
Flagging off a pre-run of the “Niti Extreme Ultra Run 2026”, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday also released the mascot of the marathon “Kyalu Snow Leopard” at his camp office. He also flagged off the countdown run of the marathon.
The Chief Minister said the Niti Extreme Ultra Run is not merely an event, but a campaign aimed at awakening new energy, new opportunities, and renewed confidence in the border regions.
He noted that running in a rugged and challenging terrain like the Niti Valley requires indomitable spirit, unwavering faith—as steadfast as the Himalayas—and the courage to embrace challenges.
