Id was celebrated peacefully on Thursday amid tight security arrangements at many places in Uttarakhand.
The police was on high alert as Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently said that namaz on roads would not be allowed.
In the hill resort of Nainital, the namaz was offered as per the orders of the High Court. Police and para military forces kept a close watch on the situation, SSP Nainital Dr Manjunath T.C. said after reviewing the security arrangements.
In Dehradun, the SSP Dehradun Pramendra Dobal said adequate security arrangements were made during Id prayers and celebrations. The entire Dehradun city was divided into 5 Zones, 11 Sectors, and 35 Sub-sectors.
In Haridwar and Udhamsingh Nagar also, adequate police forces were deployed in sensitive areas in view of the id.
