After considerable delay, the Southwest Monsoon on Tuesday advanced into north India including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, IMD said.
As the monsoon approached, the hill state experienced heavy rains in Dehradun and several other parts.
“The southwest monsoon has advanced some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand & Bihar, some parts of Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Uttarakhand, and some parts of Himachal Pradesh & Ladakh, today the 30th June, 2026,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, the Met department in Dehradun said heavy to very heavy Rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Bageshwar districts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The department said heavy Rain likely to occur at isolated places in Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, US Nagar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, very intense to extremely intense spell of rain & gusty winds (speed 30-40 Kmph) likely to occur at isolated places.

Dehradun recorded max temperature of 33.5 degree C and minimum of 26.3.
