Actor Tiger Shroff escaped with minor injuries after three gunmen opened fire at his vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening prompting the Mumbai police to issue a high alert.

A day later, the three gangsters were arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota area on Monday when they were trying to flee to Nepal.

The suspects, including a minor, were apprehended from a train at Kota railway station in a joint operation by Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force and Kota City Police, acting on inputs from Mumbai Police. The accused are from Haryana and Bihar and were travelling towards Delhi before allegedly planning to escape abroad.

The firing took place around 7 pm near Pushpa Narsee Park as Shroff was leaving after playing a football match. The assailants allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and fired five to six rounds at his BMW before fleeing. Shroff escaped direct gunshot injuries, while his driver, Firdaus, and another person, reportedly an autorickshaw driver, were injured.

Police traced the suspects’ movements with the help of CCTV footage. Investigators are probing whether the attack was planned and who ordered it. Kota police said the accused had allegedly been lured with money and promises of settling abroad.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has purportedly claimed responsibility for the firing through a social media post. Kota police have named Anil Pandit, described as an associate of the gang, in connection with the alleged hiring of the attackers. The investigation is continuing.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff and his father, veteran actor Jackie Shroff, after the attack. He said the actor had suffered a gunpowder burn on his hand and assured the family of the state government’s support. Shinde warned that gangsters would not be allowed to revive gang warfare in Mumbai.
