Hydropower projects of the state-run UJVN Ltd have delivered an outstanding performance during the financial year 2025-26 surpassing their stipulated electricity generation targets.

UJVN ltd Managing Director Ajay Kumar Singh said the company’s power stations — Dhakrani, Dhallipur, Kulhal, Tiloth, Chilla, Ramganga, Vyasi, Galogi, Dunav, Urgam, Kaliganga I & II, and Madhyamaheshwar generated power in excess of the targets set for the financial year 2025-26.

“As far as the production is concerned, the financial year 2025-26 has proven to be an exceptional year for UJVN Limited. It is noteworthy that the Corporation’s projects generate power in accordance with the availability of river water. Due to reduced rainfall and snowfall in the catchment areas of these projects, river water levels remained low for the majority of the time. Despite these challenges, most of the Corporation’s power projects delivered an outstanding performance, surpassing their stipulated power generation targets by the end of the year,” Singh said.

Providing details in this regard, Singh said the fitness of the machinery remained at 90 percent as a result of systematic maintenance and better operational techniques which played a pivotal role in optimizing production. He further noted that, alongside the large and medium-scale projects, the small-scale hydropower projects also made a commendable contribution to this record-breaking production.

Expressing his delight over this achievement by the Corporation’s power stations, Singh remarked that this record production was made possible solely through UJVN Limited’s efficient management, excellent operational planning, and outstanding work culture.
