Uttarakhand Congress president Ganesh Godiyal has intensified the party’s outreach campaign in the Kumaon region through the ongoing Parivartan Sankalp Sammelan, seeking to galvanise grassroots support ahead of the next Assembly elections.

As part of his multi-day tour of Kumaon, Godiyal addressed public meetings and interacted with local residents across several constituencies, urging people to back the Congress for what he described as a “people-centric and accountable government.”

During the latest leg of the campaign in Munsiyari under the Dharchula Assembly constituency in Pithoragarh district, a large number of local residents joined the Congress, expressing faith in the party’s ideology and its commitment to public welfare.

Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Godiyal said their support would strengthen the Congress’ resolve to bring political change in Uttarakhand. “I wholeheartedly welcome all those who have joined the Congress family. Your trust and cooperation will further reinforce our commitment to bringing positive change in the state,” he said.

The Parivartan Sankalp Sammelan has emerged as one of the Congress’ key mass-contact programmes in the hill state. Party leaders have been using the platform to highlight issues such as unemployment, migration from hill villages, inflation, and alleged shortcomings of the BJP government, while presenting the Congress’ vision for development and good governance.

Senior Congress leaders and local functionaries accompanied Godiyal during the tour, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers and supporters.

The Congress hopes the campaign will help strengthen its organisational network in Kumaon and build momentum ahead of the electoral battle. Party leaders said similar programmes would continue in other parts of the state as part of a sustained effort to expand the party’s reach and mobilise public support for political change.
