Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary sent to 14 days judicial custody

A local court in Maharashtra on Friday sent Siya Goyal and her alleged accomplice Chetan Chaudhary to 14 days judicial custody in connection with the sensational murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal (25) in the Lohagad Fort near Pune.

The duo was remanded after their police custody ended on Thursday, police sources said.

Investigators believe that the killing of Ketan Agarwal was the culmination of a series of failed murder attempts allegedly orchestrated by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged accomplice, Chetan Chaudhary.

The murder plan began when Siya took Ketan to Lohagad Fort on June 18 to celebrate her birthday. By 10.30 am, Siya told authorities that Ketan had slipped while taking photographs and fallen into a deep valley. His body was recovered after a three-hour operation.

Ketan was the son of a prominent Maharashtra construction businessman, Vishal Agarwal, from Pimpri-Chinchwad near Pune. In February, he was engaged to Siya and the two were set to tie the knot in Udaipur in November. The couple’s family had planned a lavish wedding in Jaipur — they booked a luxury palace for Rs 17 crore and scheduled two private aircraft to fly wedding guests.

According to investigators, the conspiracy extended far beyond the fatal incident at Lohagad Fort. Ketan’s father has alleged that Siya had meticulously planned his son’s murder and had prepared multiple backup plans to ensure the crime was carried out. Police suspect that the attempt at Lohagad Fort was not the first. Had the alleged plan at the fort failed, Siya was reportedly prepared to execute another plan during a trip to Mahabaleshwar, he claimed.

Investigators say CCTV footage, call records and digital evidence played a crucial role in unraveling the case. A man allegedly identified as Chetan in hoodie was reportedly seen near the fort on the day of the incident, despite efforts to conceal his movements. Police are also probing suspicious phone activity and location data connected to the accused.

The existence of multiple alleged plans has strengthened the prosecution’s case that the murder was premeditated and carefully orchestrated rather than a crime committed in the heat of the moment.
