Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who was expelled by Congress for anti-party activities last year, on Thursday alleged that he was under pressure from the party to say something against Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, but he clearly refused.

Several senior party leaders became angry with him when he refused to make statements against Chief Minister Dhami, he alleged.

Speaking at a book release function in Dehradun, Acharya Krishnam alleged that he was under pressure from the Congress party to say something against Chief Minister Dhami, but he flatly refused to do so.

Acharya Krishnam further alleged that Delhi expressed displeasure when he called Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami a “sadhu”. He was asked by Congress leaders in Delhi to express regret and retract the statement. The Congress party questioned him about how he could call Chief Minister Dhami a “sadhu,” Acharya Krishnam said. He then told Congress leaders that anyone who accepts the truth with simplicity and joy is a sadhu.
