Uday (21), a resident of Meerut, and girl (21), a resident of Dehradun, were first-year MCA students at a private educational institution in Clement Town and had been in a relationship.
The incident occurred on Saturday when the girl went to Uday’s room to sort out the matter after the breakup. A heated argument took place between the two which led to stabbing with kitchen knives. The two got injured in the stabbing.
After receiving information, police arrived at the scene and rushed the two injured students to the hospital. However, a surgery was performed on the girl who suffered a grievous neck injury. She was in ICU but out of danger.
The girl’s father Krishan Chandra Verma filed an FIR against Uday, who too suffered minor injury, in the Clement Town police station alleging that he tried to kill his daughter. On the basis of FIR, police arrested Uday.
