In a grisly incident, a wild elephant dragged and killed a 12-year-old boy by hitting him repeatedly on the ground with its trunk.
Kuanal Thakur was killed on the spot, forest officials said.
The incident occurred at Thano forest range in Dehradun forest division on Thursday evening when an elephant came from jungles and attacked an Activa scooter. The jumbo dragged the boy who was travelling sitting between his father and mother on the Activa scooter and started hitting him on the ground with its trunk.
Later, the shocked parents took the boy to nearby Jolly Grant Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
