Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday announced that help desks would be set up in all colleges and universities to address various complaints of students.
The announcement came when Dhami held a review meeting of CM Helpline 1905 at the Secretariat. During the meeting, the case of Sakshi, a student at Shridev Suman University, Tehri, who was denied her degree despite complaining to the helpline, came to light.
The Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure and directed the Secretary of IT and the Secretary of Higher Education to submit an investigation report within a week and take strict action against the concerned officer. He also ordered that the student should get her degree within a week.
The Chief Minister said that help desks should be set up in universities and colleges to address student complaints. The Chief Minister directed all departments to submit a status report of complaints received on Helpline 1905 to the Chief Minister’s Office by the 5th of every month.
He also warned that strict action will be taken against negligent officials. The Chief Minister categorically stated that “the problem will be resolved only when the complainant is completely satisfied.
