In view of the seriousness of the car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday asked Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth to issue a high alert in the state.
Instructions have been issued in all districts of the state to conduct intensive checking operations at international and interstate borders, sensitive sites, religious sites, markets, bus stands, railway stations, malls, and other crowded areas, in view of security arrangements, DGP said in a statement.
All District Incharges and Police Officers have been instructed to exercise extra vigilance, increase patrolling and checking, and ensure prompt action by reporting any suspicious activity and continuously monitoring social media, the DGP said.
Cheetah Mobile Units, Patrol Cars, Bomb Disposal Squads, and Dog Squads have been activated in all districts. These teams are conducting intensive searches and checking operations in sensitive areas.
