FRI holds forest training programme for Army

A training programme on “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Forest Ecosystems” was organized by the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, on Friday in the campus for officers and personnel of the Indian Army.

Lt. Col Manoj Gurung and Maj. PC Mishra and other 45 military personnel attended the training programme.

On this occasion, Director, FRI, Richa Mishra, IFS, in her inaugural address, emphasized on the importance of integrating environmental conservation with defence activities. She highlighted that while the Indian Army plays a vital role in safeguarding national security, forests are equally crucial for ecological stability by regulating climate, conserving biodiversity, and supporting livelihoods.
