A high-level German delegation from Frankfurt held an interactive meeting with industry associations, business leaders and academia from Haridwar and Roorkee to explore new opportunities for investment and collaboration, a top official said on Thursday.

The delegation, on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand, assured the entrepreneurs of the state of seamless support, quick approvals and guidance to set up businesses in Frankfurt.

“Frankfurt is completely open for business. There is no fee of any kind for entrepreneurs coming from Uttarakhand. We welcome emerging businesses and start-up ideas to Frankfurt,” said a German delegate during the meeting held on Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, C. Ravi Shankar, Secretary – Skill Development & Employment, Government of Uttarakhand called upon the local industries to explore partnerships and take advantage of opportunities in high potential sectors in Germany.

The Uttarakhand Industries Department highlighted the strategic advantages of the state, including seamless access to vast consumer markets due to being part of the Delhi-NCR growth belt, investor-friendly policies of the state, initiatives such as the ‘Nivesh Mitra’ single window system, Top Achiever Ranking in Ease of Doing Business 2023 and the Mega Industrial and Investment Policy 2025.

Uttarakhand’s sectors such as pharmaceuticals, organic food products, auto components, and tourism are deeply aligned with Germany’s strengths and market requirements. Both sides discussed the possibilities of future cooperation in wellness, green mobility, skill development, and sustainable development.

Germany’s technical expertise and Uttarakhand’s resources and talent can combine to open new vistas of innovation and shared growth.

“We welcome any new initiative which intends to boost business opportunities in Germany,” said Pankaj Gupta, President of Indian Industries Association (IAU).
