Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday shared an interesting anecdote about Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he said has left a deep impression on his heart.
“I have had the privilege of closely observing the working style of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Every moment spent with him teaches a new lesson of discipline, dedication and patriotism,” said Dhami on social media.
After a meeting of the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states in Kashi which ended at 1 o’clock on that night, Dhami said everyone was tired. After the meeting, the Prime Minister smiled and said “there is still one important work left.”
“We all started looking at each other – so late at night, what else now,”? Dhami wrote. The PM said casually “Inspection during the day in my Lok Sabha constituency causes inconvenience to the people. Therefore, I will go out to see the development work at night only.”
“And then in the silence of the night, when the whole city was sleeping, the Prime Minister was on the streets. Inspecting each and every project, paying attention to every detail. Time passed… 3 o’clock… then it became 4 o’clock. Then he returned to his room. But this is the most amazing moment of the story, the next morning at 9 am, as soon as the meeting started, he was there – full of energy, the same sharp eyes, the same unwavering concentration. As if he had not slept at night but had gained energy from serving the country,” Dhami said.
“On seeing the Prime Minister, only one thought came to all of our minds – This is true leadership,” Dhami said. “The PM does not preach, but lives by example. His life teaches that true leadership is the name of discipline, commitment and service to the nation,” noted Dhami whose birthday falls on Sept 16 just a day before Modi’s.
