Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (retd) B C Khanduri on Wednesday turned 91. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, his daughter and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri and other top leaders sent birthday greetings to him.
“Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior BJP leader, respected Shri Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri ji, on his birthday. I pray to Lord Badri Vishal for your happy, healthy, and prosperous life,” CM Dhami said on Facebook.
Khanduri was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2007 to 2009 and 2011 to 2012. He was a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Garhwal parliamentary constituency of Uttarakhand and is a senior member of the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
Earlier, he was a cabinet minister, Ministry of Surface Transport of the government headed by the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Khanduri is also considered to be the chief architect of the expansions of roads and highways in India in big way undern the Vajpayee government.
Family members said he has recovered fully following some recent health-related issues.
