In the backdrop of the Iran conflict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and held “extraordinarily fruitful and in-depth discussions” with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“The visit to the United Arab Emirates was brief, yet extraordinarily fruitful; where in-depth discussions were held with my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on ways to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE,” Modi said after the meeting.
Modi expressed confidence that the outcomes of this visit will further solidify the bonds of friendship between India and UAE which would help in achieving growth and prosperity for the two nations from the rigours of the Iran conflict.
Significantly, Modi’s visit to UAE came at a time when US President Donald Trump visited Beijing to hold summit talks with Chinese counterpart XI Jinping mainly on the Iran issue.
