New investments likely to create 3.31 lakh jobs in Uttarakhand: Amit Shah

The new investments in Uttarakhand through the grounding of Rs 1 lakh MoUs are likely to create 81000 jobs and additional 2.5 lakh through ancillaries, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday.

Shah was speaking at a function in Rudrapur in Kumaon region to celebrate the grounding of Rs one lakh investments in the state. After seeing the developments in Uttarakhand and other states, Shah said the goal of a developed India by 2047 is achievable.

Shah assured all assistance to Uttarakhand from the central government.

Shah said during the closing ceremony of the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit held in December 2023, he had told CM Dhami that the real feat of the state government would be to bring the MoUs of Rs 3.5 lakh crores signed in the summit on the ground. But now, Shah said he is happy that despite all the challenges, the state government has brought an investment of Rs one lakh crore on the ground. This has cleared the way for creation of 81000 new jobs. Besides, there is hope of creating  more than 2.5 lakh new jobs through ancillary industries.

Shah said the state government has been successful in preparing a new blueprint of the development by balancing it with the ecology.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created new records in every field by drawing a new blueprint of development. The length of national highways has increased by 60 percent in ten years, during this period eight lakh km of roads have been built in rural areas.

Vande Bharat trains have reached 333 districts. In last ten years, 45000 km of railway track was electrified, 88 new airports were built and inland waterway cargo increased 11 times. The Home Minister said Atal ji had left the country’s economy at number 11, Modi ji has brought it to number four. Now in 2027, India is going to become the third largest economy in the world. He said that at one time it was said that while developing infrastructure, welfare of the poor of the country is not possible. But the NDA government has broken this myth and brought 25 crore people above the poverty line. The Modi government is providing food security to the poor by giving five kg of free food grains, as well as providing free treatment up to five lakh rupees to 55 crore people.

He said that many efforts were made to promote investment in this small state, including tourism, MSME, startup, film policy, which has created an environment for investment in the state. In the coming times, Ayurveda, yoga, natural treatment and organic farming will become the basis of the development of Uttarakhand.
