The portals of the high altitude Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand were reopened on Sunday morning.

A large number of Sikh devotees paid obeisance at the Gurudwara which is situated at a height of more than 15000 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the Sikh devotees to the shrine. “Jo Bole So Nihal… Sat Shri Akaal! The doors of Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, the center of faith of crores of devotees, have been opened today with full rituals. Hearty welcome and greetings to all the pilgrims who have come on this holy journey! Our government has completed all the necessary preparations to make the journey of the devotees safe and smooth,” Dhami wrote on X.
