Suspense after paper leak: UKSSSC defers its Oct 5 exams

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has postponed its Oct 5 exam in the wake of the Sept 21 paper leak controversy. No new date has been announced yet.

Within hours after stating that UKSSSC was fully prepared to conduct the remaining exams for 5000 state government jobs, the Oct 5 exams for various posts in the department of cooperative. Top officials said they were not satisfied with the security arrangements for the exams.

They said there is also suspense over the October 12 exam also. These recruitment examinations and tests are being held for approximately 5,000 to 5,500 posts.

Exams for 4,500 to 5,000 positions have already been conducted in the last six months, which include one graduate level where the paper leak controversy erupted from a Haridwar centre.
Following the uproar caused by the alleged leak of three pages of a question paper on Sept 21, uncertainty has loomed over the Commission’s upcoming recruitment examinations.
After the paper leak controversy, chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a CBI probe in the case following which a group of unemployed youths deferred their 8-day long dharna near Parade Ground on Monday (Sept 29).
