UK to celebrate grounding of Rs 0ne Lakh cr investments at Rudrapur on Saturday

The MoUs signed with scores of industries during the Global Investor Summit organized by the Uttarakhand government in December 2023 are now getting off the ground.

Investments of more than Rs one lakh crore have already been implemented on the ground.

The state government is celebrating the grounding of these MoUs by organizing a mega show “Uttarakhand Nivesh Utsav” in Rudrapur on Saturday. The real status of the investments will be showcased through this event after the signing of the MoUs in 2023, an official statement said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest of this event to be held at Sports Stadium Rudrapur.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday visited Rudrapur to oversee the final preparations of the event.

“Through this event, the state government wants to encourage the investment environment in Uttarakhand so that more and more investors come to Uttarakhand. This will accelerate economic activities and create employment opportunities in the state,” Dhami said.

During the Global Investor Summit held in Dehradun in December 2023, a total of 1779 MoUs worth Rs 3,57,693 crore were signed which were expected to create 81,327 new jobs.

On the basis of the signing of these MoUs, the grounding of Rs one lakh crore proposals has been done in the state so far.  “This is a positive development for the state as the grounding of more than Rs one lakh crore investment proposals has been achieved by the government,” said Pankaj Gupta, President of the Industries Association of Uttarakhand (IAU) which has also worked for making the summit successful.

MoUs signed during Global Investor Summit:

Energy – 157 MoUs worth Rs 1,03,459 cr (employment 8,472) grounded: Rs 40341 cr

Industry – 658 MoUs worth Rs 78,448 cr (employment 44,663) grounded: Rs. 34086 cr

Housing – 125 MoUs worth Rs 41,947 cr (employment 5,172) grounded: Rs. 10055 cr

Tourism – 437 MoUs worth Rs 47,646 cr (employment 4694) grounded at Rs 8635 cr

Higher Education – 28 MoUs worth Rs 6,675 cr (employment 4428) grounded: Rs 5116 Cr

Others- 374 MoUs worth Rs. 79,518 cr grounded: Rs 3292 crore (employment 13898)
