Ahead of the Chardham yatra beginning from April 19, the Uttarakhand police has started taking action blocking 265 fraudulent websites, bank accounts, social media pages, and mobile numbers.
Cautioning the pilgrims, SP Rudraprayag Niharika Tomar said the pilgrims visiting the Kedarnath area to book tickets through only authenticated website. “Please book the Shri Kedarnath Helicopter Service exclusively through the official website: https://heliyatra.irctc.co.in,” she said.
“Do not register or make payments on any other website or link. Beware of Fraud in the Name of Helicopter Bookings!,” she cautioned.
She said 265 fraudulent websites, bank accounts, social media pages, and mobile numbers—created under the guise of fake helicopter service bookings—have been blocked.
The Chardham Yatra will commence with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines on April 19 coinciding with auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Kedarnath shrine will open for devotees on April 22 while those of Badrinath shrine will open on April 23.
Last year, over 50 lakh pilgrims had visited the Chardham yatra in Uttarakhand.
