Youth commits suicide, accuses BJP youth leader of extorting

Jitendra Singh Negi, a youth in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district, allegedly shot himself dead on Thursday accusing state BJP youth leader Himanshu Chamoli of extorting Rs 35 lakh from him.

Few hours after the suicide, Chamoli was arrested from Dehradun’s Bhaniyawala area. Taking cognizance of the incident, the BJP removed Chamoli from the post of secretary state youth BJP. However, it was not yet clear whether Chamoli had also been expelled from BJP.

According to the information, Negi (32), a youth from Talsari village in Pauri district, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself while sitting in his car near his house at four in the morning.

Before committing suicide, he posted a video on social media and blamed Chamoli for his death. In this video, Singh said that he is leaving the world today but the entire responsibility for this is only and only Himanshu Chamoli.

The youth said that Chamoli took a total of Rs 35 lakh from him repeatedly in the name of opening a news channel, preparing his office, buying expensive phones, going on a Kedarnath Yatra, but did not get his land related work done, due to which he is being forced to take this step.

On receiving information about the youth’s suicide, Pauri police reached the spot with forensic team and collected necessary evidence from there. Police said that cognizance of the video has also been taken in this regard.

Police said that after registering a case in this regard, Chamoli has been arrested from Bhaniyawala area of ​​Dehradun.
