6.1 Earthquake hits Afghanistan, tremors felt in parts of North India

An earthquake with 6.1 magnitude on Saturday hit Afghanistan and some areas in India and Pakistan. The epicentre of the quake which occurred at 1904 hours was at Jurm in Afghanistan with a depth of 199 km, USGS said.

However, there was no report of any loss of life and property in the region. The tremors were also felt in Kashmir and some other parts of north India.

Jurm has experienced dozens of tremors in the past one decade.
