The IMD on Monday issued yellow alert of heavy rains at isolated places Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Bageshwar districts of Uttarakhand. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense to very intense spell of rain likely to occur at isolated places in hilly districts of Uttarakhand, it said.
District authorities in Dehradun said all schools will remain closed due to “orange alert” of heavy rains.
