In a closely contested Girls’ final match of Gardner Premier League (GPL) in Dehradun on Saturday, St. Jude’s School defeated The Asian School by 4 wickets. Winning the toss, The Asian School elected to bat first and set a target of 44 runs, with Akruti leading the batting effort by scoring 12 runs. However, St. Jude’s School chased down the target with determination, securing a thrilling victory by 4 wickets. Aadya emerged as the highest scorer for St. Jude’s School with 12 runs.
In a high-octane Boys’ final match, Ann Mary School clashed with New Doon Blossoms School. New Doon Blossoms School posted a competitive total of 54 runs. In response, Ann Mary School displayed excellent batting skills and successfully chased down the target with 4 wickets in hand to win the tournament. Advit emerged as the highest scorer of the match with 15 runs.
The matches were officiated by experienced umpires ensuring fair play and accurate record-keeping throughout the tournament.
With these two matches, the 29th edition of the Gardner Premier League (GPL) Indoor Cricket Tournament 2026 concluded on a high note, delivering an electrifying display of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Featuring 18 boys’ teams and 12 girls’ teams, the tournament captivated cricket enthusiasts from April 23 to May 9 with more than 125 hours of action-packed indoor cricket.
Throughout the tournament, players showcased exceptional skill and determination, producing moments of high drama, nail-biting suspense, and unforgettable performances. The competition not only highlighted emerging talent but also strengthened the spirit of sportsmanship among participants.
The grand finale of the GPL welcomed distinguished guests, and Chief Guest Mrs. Mohini Abel, Principal of Little Angel’s School, Dehradun. The Chief Guest Mrs. Abel commended the
participants and organizers for their efforts and achievements.
Mr. R.V. Gardner, Principal addressed the August gathering. He congratulated the teams who made it to the finals as well as thanked the principals of various schools who actively
participated in 29 th Gardner Premier League, 2026.
