Before Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor became one of Bollywood’s most celebrated couples, there was Tashan — and apparently, Akshay Kumar had a ringside seat to the romance.
Appearing with Saif on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Akshay recalled an interesting incident from the 2008 film’s shoot, when Saif and Kareena’s relationship was just beginning.
Host Amitabh Bachchan pointed out to Saif that his love story with Kareena had started during Tashan. Saif confirmed it, prompting Bachchan to turn to Akshay, who was also part of the film, and ask what he had witnessed back then.
Akshay had a story ready.
He recalled waking up at around 4 am, with Kareena’s room next to his. One morning, he said, the door suddenly opened and Saif emerged.
Akshay jokingly recalled asking what Saif was doing. The actor apparently replied that there was nothing going on — he and Kareena were simply “going for a jog.”
Saif immediately backed up the story on the KBC set, repeating, “Yes! Early morning jog.”
Akshay, however, delivered the punchline: “So he had come to wake her up to go for a jog.”
The revelation left the KBC conversation buzzing with laughter, offering a rare and amusing glimpse into the early days of Saif and Kareena’s relationship.
Years later, Saif and Akshay are set to reunite on screen in Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller-drama Haiwaan, making their KBC reunion all the more interesting.
