The Uttarakhand police has launched detailed investigations after a 25-year-old man from Delhi fell to his death in the hill station of Mussoorie early Friday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Shivam, a resident of the Bhogal area of South Delhi, was found seriously injured after falling from the viewpoint near Library Chowk.
According to police, a local guide, Arshad, alerted them about the incident. A police team reached the spot and rushed Shivam to the Mussoorie Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Arshad told police that he had reached the Library Chowk area in the morning and noticed a young man standing on the other side of the railing at the viewpoint. While he was parking his scooter, he heard a loud sound of someone falling. On reaching the spot, he found the same youth lying injured below.
Police said Shivam was working in Delhi and had come to Mussoorie alone. When asked whether it was a suicide, police said the exact cause would be known only after investigations.
His family has been informed about the incident and an investigation is underway. Police said the circumstances surrounding the fall are being examined and the exact cause of death will be established only after the investigation is completed.
