B C Khanduri’s death: Public holiday in Uttarakhand on May 20

The Uttarakhand government on Tuesday announced a public holiday on May 20 as a mark of respect for former Chief Minister Major General (Retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri who passed away in Dehradun.

The funeral will be held on May 20 with full police honour, an official statement said.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also ordered a three-day state mourning from May 19 to May 21. During this period, the National Flag will fly at half-mast at all government offices. Additionally, no official entertainment programs will be organized.
