Delhi woman among two killed in Tiger waterfall

Two tourists including a woman from Delhi were killed when a tree fell on them at Tiger waterfall in Chakrata area of Uttarakhand on Monday, police said.

The incident occurred in the evening when Alka Anand (55) of Delhi and Geet Ram Joshi (38) of Chakrata were taking bath in the waterfall when suddenly a big tree fell on them. “When the tree fell, nearly a dozen people were taking bath in separate groups. However, others escaped unhurt,” said a police official.

The two were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead. This is the first such incident at Tiger waterfall in Chakrata.
