Uttarakhand state Congress vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana on Sunday alleged a scam in the sale of assets of the Tarai Seed Development Corporation and demanded a high-level inquiry.
Dhasmana claimed that the government is auctioning the assets of the terai Seed Development Corporation for pittance. “The corporation is going through a crisis today and instead of rescuing it, the government is auctioning its assets for a pittance,” Dhasmana said.
He further claimed that none of the directors selected by the shareholders were included in the committee formed recently for the auction process of the assets of Tarai Seed Development Corporation. An employee who went to jail on corruption charges was made a member of this committee, he claimed.
Dhasmana alleged that the corporation sold many seed manufacturing units in working condition for a pittance. He said the scam should be investigated by a sitting judge of the High Court or by the CBI.
