Delhi Public School, Dehradun, celebrated its annual cultural festival, “Vidhanjali – A Tradition,” with great enthusiasm and joy on Thursday (Nov 6, 2025).
This event is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Founder Chairman, late M.P. Singh and pay tributes to him.
The theme of this year’s event was “25 Years of Uttarakhand – Cultural Heritage of the Land of Gods,” which featured live performances of the state’s rich folk traditions, art, and culture. As in every year, various inter-school competitions were organized, aimed at encouraging learning and creativity among students. The program included various competitions, including Uttarakhand folk tales, folk dances, folk music, street plays on the theme of migration, documentary filmmaking, digital brochure design, rangoli, Aipan art, and ramp walks. Students from various schools in Dehradun participated enthusiastically, making the event even more interesting and informative.
The chief guest of the program was Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director, Delhi Public School, Dehradun, whose presence added energy and inspiration to the event. The program began with a floral tribute to Singh, followed by felicitations of the invited guests and judges. A welcome song and dance performance marked the beginning of the event.
Attractive food stalls offering delicious dishes and beverages were also set up for the students and participating schools, adding to the joy of the celebration. The day was a beautiful example of joy, learning, and cultural unity.
At the end of the day, a prize distribution ceremony was held, where the winners of various competitions were honored and the school with the highest score was awarded the overall trophy.
DSB International School, Rishikesh, achieved first place with its outstanding performance in the competition. Sai Grace International School, Dehradun, secured second place with its outstanding performance, while the students of The Horizon School, with their commendable performance, secured third place. The enthusiasm and dedication of all participants was commended.
Remarking on the success of the program, B.K. Singh, Principal of DPS Dehradun, praised the hard work and creative contributions of the teachers and students. He said that this event is a unique confluence of knowledge and celebration, which not only highlights the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand but also exemplifies the founding ‘Chairman’s’ vision of holistic education.
