Delhi Public School, Dehradun organized Mental Health Week from 6th to 10th October 2025, with the objective of fostering awareness about the importance of mental well-
being, especially during catastrophes and emergencies.
A Special Event was held on 7th October 2025 at 5:00 PM at Centrio Mall, Dehradun, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and the public.
Dr. Surender Kumar Dhalwal, Professor and Head, Department of Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology and Research, NIEPVD Dehradun, was the chief guest of the
event.
The highlights of the event included:
• A Nukkad Natak on Mental Health by DPS students, spreading messages of empathy and support for mental well-being.
• A thematic play on Anti-Drug Awareness, emphasizing the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of healthy choices.
The performances attracted a large audience at the mall and were met with great appreciation for their impactful message and presentation.
In his address, Dr. Dhalwal praised the school for bringing mental health awareness into public spaces and commended the initiative as a strong step toward destigmatizing
mental health issues.
Principal B. K. Singh appreciated the students’ efforts and Neha Johari’s dedication in organizing the event.
The event concluded with applause and a shared resolve to continue promoting mental health awareness and drug prevention—truly reflecting the school’s vision of nurturing
socially responsible and empathetic individuals.
