Microsoft announces largest investment in India

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced US$17.5 billion investment in India, aimed at strengthening AI infrastructure, skills, and sovereign capabilities for the country’s AI-first future.

Nadella made the announcement after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday for what he described as an “inspiring conversation” on India’s AI opportunity. In a post shared on X, Nadella highlighted Microsoft’s decision to commit US$17.5 billion to India—its largest-ever investment in Asia—as the company looks to deepen its role in India’s rapidly expanding AI ecosystem. Thank you, PM @narendramodi  ji, for an inspiring conversation on India’s AI opportunity.
