Uttarakhand is likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall from October 5 to 10, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for eight districts for Monday.
The IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph at isolated places in Almora, Nainital, Champawat, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh on Monday.
The weather warning for Uttarakhand currently extends through October 7 for thunderstorms and lightning, while the broader rainfall forecast covers the period up to October 10.
The Met department has also forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over Himachal Pradesh during October 5-10. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall during October 6-8 and again on October 10, with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall expected over the region on October 9.
Similarly, isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh from October 6 to 10, while eastern Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive rainfall from October 5 to 10.
The IMD’s pilgrimage forecast also indicates the possibility of rain or thunderstorms in Dehradun through October 10, with generally cloudy conditions expected during much of the period.
