Raja Rammohan Roy Academy in Dehradun on Saturday held a memorable function to celebrate its diamond jubilee filled with funs and frolics.
Well-known social activist Anoop Nautiyal, who was the chief guest along with school Principal, Bharti Bishnoi and members of the Managing Committee lit up the customary lamp to kickstart the celebrations.
Soon, the atmosphere was filled with joy amid captivating and moving performances by students.
Principal Bishnoi read the annual report, detailing the year’s activities and achievements and congratulated the parents and students. The Principal said, “Our environment is our heritage, and it is our duty to preserve it.” Chief Guest Nautiyal presented the students with prizes.
Satpura House also won the Scholastic Trophy and Volleyball Trophy, while Vindhya House won the Chess and Cricket trophies. The Cock House Trophy was awarded to Shivalik House.
The Principal presented a memento to Nautiyal.
Congratulating the students, Nautiyal said, “It is a great privilege to be invited as the Chief Guest today. “I extend my best wishes to the school to continue to produce leaders and remain dedicated to the nation”. He said the future of the country lies in schools.
The program concluded with a beautiful rendition of songs by the student band, with a captivating performance by a small fourth-grade student. Next, a socially awakening dance drama, “Hope for the Earth,” was performed, filled with emotion and urging students to become leaders in the campaign to protect the environment and save Dehradun’s environment from severe damage.
Over 300 students participated in this dance drama. Rivers, forests, gardens, and mountain ranges were shown in captivating dances. The head girl delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
The day concluded with a visual and audio fireworks display, which joyfully instilled a sense of environmental protection in everyone. Present on this important occasion were the management of Raja Rammohan Roy Academy, principals from various schools in Dehradun, special guests, parents, teachers, alumni, all school officials, staff, and members.
