US President Donald Trump has described as “fake” certain reports by top media organizations which raised questions over the effectiveness of the US air strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites recently.
“Fake news CNN, together with the failing New York Times, have teamed up in an attempt to demean one of the most successful military strikes in history. The nuclear sites in Iran are completely destroyed! Both the Times and CNN are getting slammed by the public,” Trump said on X.
Earlier, several reports quoting Pentagon intelligence assessment have stated that the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites “did not destroy” the country’s nuclear programme and “probably only set it back by months.”
The White House said the flat-out wrong assessment was leaked by a low-level loser in the intelligence community.
The US hit three nuclear sites of Iran including Fordow with bunker buster 30000-pound bombs capable of destroying 60 feet of concrete or 200 feet of earth before exploding.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) however said there were no reports of any off site radiation increase from the three nuclear sites but confirmed an extensive damage to them following the US air strikes.
