Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday hailed India’s achievement of becoming fourth largest economy in the world surpassing Japan.
“It is a proud moment for every Indian that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, India has become the 4th largest economy of the world, surpassing Japan. This is not just an achievement but a testimony to the energy, self-reliance and effective policy making of ‘New India’. This achievement is a strong milestone in the journey towards ‘Developed India @ 2047’,” Dhami wrote on X.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on her May 6 post had also expressed her happiness on the achievement. “India has now officially overtaken Japan becoming the fourth largest economy of the world with a GDP of $4.187 trillion,” Gupta took on X quoting the latest IMF report.
NITI Aayog CEO B V R Subrahmanyam on Saturday said overall geopolitical and economic environment is favourable to India. “We are the fourth largest economy as I speak. We are a $4 trillion economy as I speak,” he said. Citing IMF data, Subrahmanyam said India today is larger than Japan.
“It is only US, China, Germany, which are larger than India and if we stick to what is being planned and what is being thought through, in 2.5-3 years, we will be the third largest economy,” Subrahmanyam.
