Weather may remain wet in North India, Uttarakhand till May 16: IMD

Amid rains, IMD on Tuesday indicated that the weather in north India including Uttarakhand and Himachal would remain wet till May 16.

“Scattered to Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand during and 12th -14th; Himachal Pradesh during 12th -16th May,” IMD said.

It also said Isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-60 kmph) likely over Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh during 12th -14th; Uttar Pradesh on 12th & 13th, Rajasthan on 12th May.

Thundersquall (wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) likely over Jammu-Kashmir-LadakhGilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on 12th & 13th; Haryana, Chandigarh on 12th May.
Isolated Hailstorm activity likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttar Pradesh on 12th; Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand on 12th & 13th May.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm accompanied with Squally/Gusty winds with speed reaching 30-50 kmph prevailed at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch, Assam Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathawada, Haryana, West Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh.
