Yamuna is neat and clean now, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday claimed.
“You can see clean waters of Yamuna. Earlier, one could see one-meter-high foams in Yamuna. But all foams and dirt are not visible in the river now. One can see beautiful water flowing now,” Gupta said after she visited Kalindi Kunj area on the banks of Yamuna and inspected the cleanup work.
“Today, I visited Kalindi Kunj and inspected the Yamuna cleanup work. The Delhi government is engaged in war-like preparations for the grand celebration of Chhath Mahaparva,” she said on X.
She said the Team Delhi is working day and night to ensure a clean Yamuna, cleanliness at the ghats, and the best facilities for Chhath devotees.
She also said she reviewed the entire arrangement with the officials and provided necessary guidelines.
“If someone is making fake videos, my purpose of bringing you people (media) here (Kalindi) is to see yourself the factual position. There are no dirt and no foam now,” Gupta said. “If you (media) want, you can come everyday and make videos,” said Gupta.
She also claimed that all the treatments for cleaning Yamuna are eco-friendly. She also took dig at all the previous governments saying these foams used to occur during those time.
