A 5.1 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday night rocked parts of Uttarakhand. However, there was no immediate report of any loss of life and property. Many people came out of their houses in panic.

According to USGS, the epicentre of the earthquake with magnitude 5.1 was at Chamoli-Bageshwar in Uttarakhand and struck around 2223 hours. However, the national centre for Seismology said the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.9 and its epicentre was in Chamoli.

The earthquake was felt in several parts of Uttarakhand and some nearby parts. Several people said they felt the earthquake.
